Kendall County Sheriff's Office investigating crash between bicyclist and Yorkville Police Department squad car

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash between a bicyclist and a Yorkville Police Department squad car. A news release from the sheriff's office says it happened at the intersection of Route 34 and Game Farm Road Wednesday afternoon at around 2:30. The bicyclist was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Minooka Man Sentenced in Grundy Co. Aggravated DUI Case

A 44-year-old Minooka man was sentenced in a Grundy County court case on August 15th. Ronald Rodriguez Jr. pled guilty to Aggravated DUI/Causing Great Bodily Harm, a class four felony and was sentenced to two years in prison. He must be on one parole once released from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

One dead, two injured after three-vehicle crash near Aurora

From the Daily Herald, An Aurora man died following a three-vehicle crash Tuesday evening that also injured two other drivers from Aurora. The crash occurred just before 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 30 and Orchard Road near the outskirts of southwestern Aurora, Kane County sheriff’s officials said. Authorities said 19-year-old Alex Garcia-Roquel was driving a BMW west on Route 30 at a “high rate of speed” when the vehicle struck a Nissan Rogue driven by an unidentified 53-year-old Aurora man. Suspect in Shorewood Bank Robbery Arrested

Shorewood Police have announced the arrest of the suspect connected to a Tuesday morning bank robbery at the Shorewood Bank & Trust. The suspect, later identified as James Houge, was recognized by an off-duty Joliet officer who recognized him eating at the Joliet McDonald’s at 2220 Rt. 59. The officer has stated that they recognized Houge from a flyer sent out by Shorewood Police. The officer contacted supervisors with the Joliet Police Department and remained on the scene until Joliet and Shorewood officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the restaurant. Houge was taken into custody without incident as he was attempting to leave.

Kendall County Forest Preserve District moving closer to opening Fox Bluffs Forest Preserve
