Exelon Moving Forward on Shutting Down Dresden and Byron Nuclear Power Plants

Exelon Generation is submitting decommissioning plans to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for power plants in Morris and Byron. According to a press release from Exelon, the plan details long term restoration plans for the two sites after they close this fall. It was announced last year that the two plants would be shut down. Exelon said in the release that the Braidwood and LaSalle County plants will also be closing in the next few years.
