MARION – Firefighters knocked down a fire in the second floor of Cilantro Thai Cuisine at 374 Front St. late Saturday night. According to a post on the Marion Fire Dept.’s Facebook page, the fire was reported at 11:19 p.m., and was well involved on the second floor upon their arrival.

No one injured as boat runs aground at Fisherman's Beach

(Oct. 16, 2021) No one was injured when a boat ran aground on Fisherman's Beach just before 8 p.m. Saturday. Nantucket Harbormaster Sheila Lucey said the vessel had two people aboard when it struck the beach. The marine department, police department and U.S. Coast Guard Station Brant Point responded by truck.

Crews rescue 3 people, dog from capsized sailboat on Cape Cod

WELLFLEET, MASS. (WHDH) - Three people and a dog had to be rescued from a capsized 19-foot sailboat in Wellfleet Harbor on Cape Cod on Sunday. Emergency crews responding to a report of a capsized vessel seen off of 45 Chequesett Bluff Road in Wellfleet around noon found two people and a dog sitting on top of the hull while a third person attempted to swim to shore in search of help, according to the Wellfleet Fire Department.

New details: Man arrested after illegal drugs prompt HazMat response to motel in Sandwich

SANDWICH – Police say that on Saturday at approximately 12:50 PM, they responded to the Sandwich Motor Lodge on Route 6A for a guest who failed to leave after checkout. Upon arrival to the hotel room officers located a male party, identified as David Allain inside the room. Allain was confirmed to have four warrants and placed under arrest. The charges for the warrants were for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drug, two counts of Possession to Distribute Class B Drug, Possession of Class A, and six counts of Possession of Class B, Strangulation and Suffocation, and two counts of A&B.

Coyote bites teen on Massachusetts beach

The Chatham Police Department is investigating a 16 year old being bitten by a coyote near the second lot of Harding’s Beach. On Monday, October 10, 2021 at approximately 08:00 p.m., the teenager and a friend were eating on a blanket off the second lot when a coyote approached. The coyote bit the teenager on the right ankle. The teenager and friend ran away and the coyote then picked up some of the food and went into the dunes.

Man seriously injured in fall in Sagamore

BOURNE – A man was seriously injured after reportedly falling about 20 feet from a lift machine. Rescuers rushed to the scene at 845 Sandwich Road under the Sagamore Bridge about 11 AM. A MedFlight helicopter was called to meet the ambulance at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. Authorities are investigating the incident. Further details were not immediately available.

Warning about feeding coyotes after teenager attacked on Chatham beach

CHATHAM — Town officials are warning people not to feed coyotes or leave food out after a 16-year-old boy was bitten by a coyote Monday night while eating on Harding Beach. This is the second coyote attack this year on the Cape. In August, a 3-year-old girl was bitten on the neck by a coyote on Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown.

There are 33 states represented among the hundreds of fake IDs collected. It was a busy summer on Nantucket, and state police have the fake IDs to show for it. On Thursday, Massachusetts State Police shared a photo of more than 500 fake IDs turned into the Nantucket barracks over the summer of 2021. The fake licenses and identification cards are turned into the troopers after being confiscated at various bars and restaurants.
