New Balance celebrates DC with new sneaker

WASHINGTON — With the focus on D.C. statehood right now, we came across a shoe that fully embodies our pride in this city. It was just released last month by New Balance. Designed by June Sanders, who was born in the District and raised in Prince George's County, the shoe uses the D.C. flag as its focal point, and is intended to help people "discover and celebrate" D.C.

Man fatally shot in Montgomery County; Homicide detectives investigating

FAIRLAND, Md. — A man was found dead in the Fairland area of Montgomery County Tuesday night, and detectives are investigating his death as a homicide. Officers with the Montgomery County Police Department responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of Greencastle Road and Turbridge Drive around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, police said in a tweet late Tuesday night.

DC DMV locations will offer walk-in appointments starting in July, Bowser says

WASHINGTON — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser says that all DC DMV service centers will return to walk-in service starting July 19. In a release to WUSA9, DC DMV officials said that they will honor all appointments made through Saturday, July 17, 2021, however, none will be available after that date. In addition, two DC DMV locations will have special weekend hours to accommodate residents.
