Delano Independence Day Celebration Among the Biggest in MN

If it’s the 4th of July in Minnesota, one of the communities always near the top of the list for celebrations is the Wright County community of Delano. Some of the big events on the 4th in Delano include the Firecracker 5k, Minnesota’s oldest and largest 4th of July parade with this year’s Grand Marshal, Delano native, former Golden Gopher and now, NHL hockey player Ben Meyers, bingo in the park, FLWA professional wrestling, the KRWC Road Show, and at 10:30 PM, the huge Delano fireworks spectacular.

Delano 4th of July Celebration Sunday Events

The Wright County community of Delano hosts one of the biggest 4th of July celebrations in the state, and there are numerous reasons to enjoy the day in Delano today. Sunday’s featured events include a community worship service, a vintage item sale and flea market, a street art festival, and bingo in the park.

Two Drivers Injured in Wright County Crash

Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle crash north of Delano Tuesday afternoon. The State Patrol says 26-year-old Matthew Hendrickson of Cokato and 51-year-old Tamara Schaust of Delano were taken to HCMC in Minneapolis for treatment. Woman Suffers Serious Injuries in Wright County Crash

(KNSI) – Two people were taken to a Twin Cities hospital after a head-on crash in Wright County. The Minnesota State Patrol says an SUV driven by 26-year-old Mathew Hendrickson of Cokato was headed east on Highway 12 when it collided with a car driven by 51-year-old Tamara Joy Schaust of Delano. The accident happened around 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon.

Wright County Residents Named Minnesota Farm Family of the Year

(KNSI) – A Wright County grower has been named Minnesota’s 2022 Farm Family of the Year. The University of Minnesota Extension has recognized Gene and Mary Jo Lambert of Lambert Farms in Chatham Township, west of Buffalo. The family has been farming for 33 years. They raise 200 dairy cows and grow a 1,000-acre corn and soybean rotation along with three of their four children.

Criminal Complaint Details How Dangerous Armed St. Michael Standoff was for Police

(KNSI) — Criminal charges leveled against a St. Michael man lay out just how dangerous the situation was for law enforcement. According to the criminal complaint, on June 20th, 39-year-old Brandon Gardas called his pastor and asked him to come over. He then got into an altercation, pulled out a gun, and waved it in his pastor’s face. The pastor said he left the house and drove to church, where his wife had already called 911. While the pastor was with the police, Gardas allegedly called and admitted he had a gun. Police say due to previous felony convictions, he is not allowed to have a gun.
