Record Drug Bust in McCurtain County

A lengthy undercover operation by McCurtain County deputies has resulted in the largest heroin bust and possibly largest methamphetamine bust in county history. A suspected drug dealer was arrested after selling 114 grams of meth to an undercover officer and a subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle turned up 4.5 pounds of meth, a half pound of black tar heroin and $5,000 cash. The suspect, who has not been identified because of the nature of the investigation is charged with 2 counts of aggravated drug trafficking.

Another kayaker dies in McCurtain County

McCURTAIN COUNTY, Okla. (KTEN) -- For the second time in a week, a kayaker has died while boating on Mountain Fork River in McCurtain County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a kayak operated by 32-year-old Samuel Emmanuel from Addison, Texas, capsized Friday morning when his vessel hit a tree in the water. He never resurfaced.
