Worthington woman faces dual felony drug charges

Gonzalez was arrested Sept. 8 after a member of Worthington Police Department observed her walking on West Lake Avenue. Aware of an active warrant for Gonzalez, officers approached the woman. At that time, Gonzalez allegedly admitted to having methamphetamine. Police located and removed the substance before transporting Gonzalez to the Nobles County Jail.

Ashton gets $2 million for water rebuild

ASHTON—Nearly $2 million in federal funding is on its way to Ashton’s water system through a U.S. Department of Agriculture rural infrastructure loan and grant package. Secretary of agriculture Tom Vilsack announced Oct. 14 the program that will finance more than 100 rural water and sewage projects nationwide totaling $270 million.

SCAM ALERT: Area woman caught in vehicle warranty scam

A Windom resident recently contacted the Windom Police Department about a vehicle warranty issue. The resident’s mother had received a letter regarding her vehicle warranty. According to the report, the victim called the number listed on the letter and provided, over the phone a debit card number that the scammer said was needed in order to extend her warranty coverage.

Man charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct

Obed Isau Vincente Guzman is charged with one felony count related to incidents that occurred between April 15 and Sept. 15 in the city of Worthington. According to the criminal complaint, Guzman allegedly tried to kiss, grab and touch the teen victim on different occasions, the latest of which involved the victim waking up to find Guzman touching the victim’s breasts over a shirt and then trying to remove the victim’s pants. When he was told to stop, he reportedly did so.
