Less than a week after being arrested for stealing, an Alabama man was found sleeping surrounded by what police say was evidence of his latest crime. on September 17, Matthew Williamson, 37, was arrested and charged by Pleasant Grove Police Officers with unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle and third-degree theft of property, police said.

A U.S. Army veteran found slain in his Homewood apartment more than one week ago was strangled with a necktie, according to newly released court documents. An affidavit in the capital murder case against 29-year-old Alexandria Nicole Davis was made public Monday, and alleges the Birmingham woman used a necktie to kill Johnnie Will Anderson III during the course of committing a theft of his cell phone, car keys and a debit card.

Cause of incident at MHS likely a faulty HVAC unit, officials say

MONTEVALLO – Several agencies responded on the morning of Monday, Sept. 27 to reports of a possible commercial fire at Montevallo High School. Montevallo Fire and Rescue, along with surrounding departments from Alabaster, Calera and Shelby County First Battalion, received notifications of the situation at 10:22 a.m., according to a press release from Montevallo Fire and Rescue.

Alabama and Ole Miss fans upset College GameDay isn't heading to Tuscaloosa

It seemed like a rather obvious choice. Surely, College GameDay would be in Alabama for the Ole Miss game. That won’t be the case. The ESPN pregame show announced it is heading to Athens, Georgia, where Arkansas will take on Georgia on Saturday. There are certainly good storylines there. Arkansas is one of the most surprising teams in the nation after wins against Texas A&M and Texas. The Razorbacks and Bulldog are both undefeated.
