Father killed, 9-year-old boy seriously injured after car slams into horse-drawn buggy in Geauga County

PARKMAN, Ohio — A 33-year-old man is dead and his 9-year-old son injured after their horse and buggy were struck by a car late Saturday afternoon in Geauga County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Stephen Hostetler, of Garrettsville, was guiding the horse-drawn buggy westbound along U.S. Route 422 in Parkman Township near State Route 282. The boy was beside him in the passenger's seat when the buggy was hit from behind by a Hyundai Elantra just after 5:30 p.m.
