Woman Facing Charges After Attempting to Steal From Marshfield Walmart

A woman is facing charges in Marathon County Court after attempting to steal over $100 worth of items from the Marshfield Walmart. According to a report from the Marshfield Police Department, around 11pm on Saturday, August 6th. Wood County Dispatch received a report that a 39-year-old Marshfield female was in Walmart with a male individual.

Photo walk scheduled in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – Local photographer Don Patterson will lead a photo walk, as part of a much larger, national event. The local event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13 at Jurustic Park, 112021 Old Sugar Bush Lane, just north of Marshfield. Participants are asked to meet there at 10 a.m., or meet on the west side of the Menards parking lot, near Aldi at 9:30 a.m., then travel together into the wilderness of McMillan Marsh. At the end of the walk, the group will meet at Culver’s in Marshfield to discuss and share impressions of the day.

Stevens Point kidnapping suspect arrested in Wausau

A suspect in a Stevens Point armed kidnapping and shooting was arrested Sunday in Wausau, according to the Point Plover Metro Wire. Officers were called to the 600 block of John’s Drive at 5:07 a.m. on Aug. 6 after a 911 report of a gunshot through an apartment floor. Rafters Goes Duck Hunting in 12-6 Win in Madison

MADISON, Wis. – Duck hunting season in the state of Wisconsin does not start until late September. However, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters did not get the memo, as they beat down the Mallards in Madison tonight, 12-6. The Rafters were held scoreless in the top of the first, but Wisconsin Rapids starting pitcher, Brandon Scott, also held the Mallards scoreless in the home half. However, the Rats bats got started in the top of the second. A leadoff homer from Andrew Semo, his first of 2022, gave the Rafters a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, a two-out two-run single from McKinley Erves put Wisconsin Rapids ahead 3-0.
