Judge’s rigorous collection of court-ordered debt atypical in Wisconsin — even in his own county

The defendant in Outagamie County Circuit Judge Vincent Biskupic’s courtroom had been sentenced to pay $3,125 in restitution and other court costs for battery and disorderly conduct. Over 11 hearings spanning nearly four years, Biskupic pushed the woman to pay up, at one point ordering her to apply to 20 jobs in a two-week time span to prove she was working toward paying off the debt.

New changes to the Wisconsin State Fair this year

Wisconsin GOP election investigation expands

MADISON, Wis. — A Republican investigation into the November 2020 election in Wisconsin is expanding. "To restore full integrity and trust in elections, we have decided to change direction, giving more authority and independence to Justice Gableman. I am declaring him special counsel and am giving him the authority to hire more full-time investigators who will work at his direction," Speaker Robin Vos said Friday in a news release.

States sending the most people to Wisconsin

(STACKER) — The U.S. population between 2019 and 2020 grew at the lowest rate in 120 years—just 0.35%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. But low population growth didn’t stop many people from moving, as western and southern states saw influxes in population while California and New York saw the biggest drops.
