Sauk Prairie's Boerger, Oregon's Vorontsov torch field at Badger West Conference meet

WYOCENA — Jack Boerger has been on an absolute tear this season with six event wins and just one runner-up finish at last week’s Wisconsin Rapids Jim Newman Invite. The Sauk Prairie junior continued his torrid pace on Saturday as he won the Badger West Conference meet going away, helping lead the Eagles to the team championship in the process at Wyona Park. Boerger broke 16 minutes for the second straight meet with a winning time of 15 minutes, 59.25 seconds, over 45 seconds ahead of Mt. Horeb’s Joe Stoddard.

Lodi grabs big victory over Watertown Luther Prep, Randolph blows by Mishicot

The Lodi prep football team (7-2, 5-2) shut out Watertown Luther Prep (5-4, 3-4) 38-0 in a Capitol Conference game to end the regular season Friday night. Lodi’s Jaylen Montgomery ran for three touchdowns and 134 yards. Teammate Keegan Fleischman alos ran for a touchdown and 104 yards. Fleischman threw for 100 yards on 8-of-13 passes. Lodi’s Mitchell Lane ran for a 3-yard touchdown as well for the Blue Devils.

Baraboo's Blum seeing playing time for one-loss Air Force

Baraboo High School alum Caden Blum is helping block for the nation’s leading rushing attack. The sophomore tight end has seen significant playing time during the Air Force Academy football team’s 5-1 start to 2021. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Blum doesn’t have a reception this year, but has helped block for an offense that is leading the nation with 341.3 rushing yards per game.

The Mauston prep volleyball team is once again standing alone atop the South Central Conference. For the third straight season, the Golden Eagles captured the outright league title on Tuesday with a three-set sweep over Adams-Friendship.
