One vehicle crash closes portion of U.S. Highway 12

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - All lanes on a portion of U.S. Highway 12 near Baraboo are shut down Friday due to a one-vehicle crash, Sauk Co. Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed. All east and westbound lanes on Highway 12 between Highway 136 and County Highway W are closed due to the crash. The crashed occurred near Baraboo at 3 p.m. Friday.

‘Very tragic and traumatic accident’: 4-year-old in Wisconsin dies after jumping onto roadway

MARCELLON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 4-year-old in southwestern Wisconsin died after a ‘tragic’ accident on the roadway. According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, on September 21 around 5:10 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was received saying that a 4-year-old was hit by a vehicle on Haynes Road. The child was reportedly riding on a farm wagon and had jumped down from the wagon and onto the roadway.

Boys Varsity Cross Country finishes 2nd place at Invitational @ Reedsburg-Hartge Center – Reedsburg

The boys varsity XC team traveled to Reedsburg to participate in an 11 team invitational and ended up in 2nd place. Iowa-Grant High School which is currently ranked 1st in the state among D3 teams by the coaches association won the meet with 42 points. Leading the way for the Pirates was Alex Anewenter who finished in 6th place with a personal best time of 18:03. Following closely behind was Jameson Parulski in 7th place with a time of 18:08. Gino Feciskonin was the next finisher in 8th place with a personal best time of 18:21. Pete Lotz came in 17th place with a season’s best time of 19:16. Bryce Grant returned to action after missing two weeks with a leg injury and rounded out the team scoring with a 25th place showing and a time of 19:31. Also competing in the meet were:

Regional Vehicle Sales Fall When Compared To 2021

(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in Dodge County have fallen when compared to last year’s rise in numbers. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, there have been 2,006 cars and light trucks sold in Dodge County through the first eight months of the year, 628 fewer than last year by this time, a decrease of nearly 24-percent. A three-day jury trial in Columbia County Circuit Court ended late in the afternoon on Sept. 23 with a jury finding 31-year-old Mitchell Merkes guilty of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Vehicle rear-ends Amish buggy in rural Hillsboro

A vehicle rear-ended an Amish buggy Sept. 16 on Highway 33 near Township Road in rural Hillsboro, according to the Vernon Sheriff’s Office. Casey McQuade, 45, of Amery, Wis., was traveling west on Highway 33 when he struck the buggy, which also was going west. A four-year-old child was killed after being struck by a passing car on Haynes Road in Columbia County’s town of Marcellon Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff’s officials say the child was riding on a farm wagon and jumped down from it onto the roadway. A passing motorist struck the child. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. First responders began performing lifesaving measures. After exhaustive measures were taken, attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful. A 47-year-old woman from Pardeeville was driving the vehicle that hit the child. She cooperated with investigators at the scene of the crash. The investigation continues. The name of the child will not be released.
