Just as Mother Nature can lay claim to the mesas, and Tom and Lisa Perini created the steakhouse, Mabel Reynolds can at least take some credit for the bluebonnets. A plaque at the entrance to Buffalo Gap Cemetery, just west of town, pays tribute to “Mabel Reynolds and numerous pioneers whose dedication and hard work have made this a beautiful resting place for our loved ones. We thank God for this consecrated spot.”

The 36th Annual Novice Fire Department BBQ is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Novice Community Complex. The meal will feature Beef Brisket, BBQ Goat, Sausage, Potato Salad, Beans, Dessert, Tea or Water. Adults $15, Children (3-12) $7, age 3 and under Free.

After a some time off the Ballinger Powerlifting teams traveled to Brady to compete at the Heart of Texas Meet and overall the performed very well. The boys were able to take home 3rd place as a team with six lifters bringing home a top 5 medal. The girls did very well also, with two lifters bringing home a top 5 medal.
