GEORGETOWN, Texas - A Williamson County sheriff's deputy is being honored for his heroic act last year, part of which was captured on his dash camera. Deputy Jonathan Hudash received a Carnegie medal Wednesday for his act of heroism. He’s the only one from Texas to receive this medal so far this year. Joshua Vincik Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident on 183A Toll Road in Leander, TX

Leander, TX -- May 16, 2021, 36-year-old Joshua Dane Vincik was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on the 183A Toll Road in Williamson County. Authorities say the incident happened around 1:05 a.m. at the intersection of 183A and U.S. Highway 183. Preliminary investigation suggests that 43-year-old Randall Wieland was driving a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck south on the tollway when he lost control at the US-183 intersection. The Dodge crashed into a traffic signal pole, then rebounded and continued a short distance south before coming to rest. Wieland reportedly fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

Man wanted in Williamson County for child sexual assault

WILLIAMSON COUNTY - The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a man wanted for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. According to police, Juan Antonio Ortiz, 36, may be in the Mount Vernon or Herrin area. Ortiz should be considered a dangerous individual, and should not be approached.
