ST. LOUIS (AP) – Nolan Gorman hit his first major league homer and Matthew Liberatore earned his first major league win, helping the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-3. Liberatore pitched around a couple of Gorman errors in five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits, struck out six and walked three. Gorman had four hits, drove in four runs and scored three times. Paul Goldschmidt had three hits, including a homer, and also drove in four runs. Victor Caratini hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee in the ninth. Keston Hiura also went deep.

Baseball is such a fickle game. Going into Friday night, the Brewers had won three games in a row. Now, they have dropped to straight games to the St. Louis Cardinals. Brandon Woodruff had to exit yesterday’s game due to an ankle injury and Luis Perdomo was placed on the IL earlier on Saturday. To add insult to injury, Adrian Houser gave up eight runs (five earned) in just four innings against the Cardinals. On the flipside, Cardinals’ starter Matt Liberatore shutout the Brewers through five innings. He had given up four runs in less than five innings in his first start of the season against the Pirates. In other words, things went from bad to worse.

The Blues have just lost two senior centerbacks, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, who were each important in their own ways. ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) - Four license workers are facing charges in connection to an illegal car registration scheme, prosecutors said Thursday. Prosecutors charged Eddie Johnson III, 33, of St. Louis, with three counts both of forgery and acceding to corruption by a public servant. Deandre Walton, 40, of Spanish Lake, Lavonda Jameson, 45, of Florissant, and Courtney Branch, 20, of Pagedale, were charged with several counts of forgery. Documents said Jameson worked at the Florissant License Office while Johnson III, Walton, and Branch worked with Ferguson License Office.
