Herkimer County man arrested for deadly stabbings of dad, 12-year-old sister

JORDANVILLE, N.Y. — A 22-year-old Jordanville man is charged with murdering his father and 12-year-old sister, who were found stabbed to death in their home Sunday evening. State Police arrived at the family's home, located at 1402 State Route 167, around 7 p.m. Sunday. They found 67-year-old Michael J. Andreev Sr. and 12-year-old Sofia Trusova dead at the scene.

Jordanville man charged with murder of father, 12-year-old sister

JORDANVILLE, N.Y. – The 22-year-old son and brother of the two victims in a Jordanville double homicide has been arrested and charged with their murders. Michael J. Andreev Jr. is accused of killing his 67-year-old father, Michael Andreev Sr., and 12-year-old sister, Sofia Trusova. Both of the victims were stabbed to death at their home on State Route 167 on Sunday, Sept. 19. A nine-year-old brother was unscathed-physically.

EARTH Metal Detecting Club holds annual hunt, picnic

WESTERN — Thirty members of the EARTH Metal Detecting Club of Central New York gathered for the club’s annual club hunt and picnic on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Delta Lake State Park, off of Route 46 in Westernville. Among the day’s highlights were five featured seeded hunts on the beach where hundreds of dollars’ worth of silver coins were buried along with valuable tokens which could be redeemed for prizes.
