An Eagle Butte man convicted of Robbery has been sentenced in federal US District Court. Colton White Feather must spend 52 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, and pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100. The dollar amount of restitution was left open for 60 days.

A well-known Mobridge resident was found dead in her home Saturday, July 17, when emergency services were called to a fire at a Fifth Avenue West home. The Mobridge Volunteer Fire Department and Mobridge Ambulance Service responded to a report of a fire and the discovery of Verene Faehnrich, 89, unresponsive in the home.

Repairs to the Singing Bridge, on Highway 1806 over the Grand River, northwest of Mobridge started on Monday, July 12. Post 4 finished the regular season with a 9-6 win over Pierre Post 8 15/16 Legion at Legion Memorial Field on Friday. Pierre won the opening, five-inning game 5-4. Post 4 led all the way in its 9-6 win. The local nine scored two in the first, one in the second and three in the third to open a 6-0 lead before Pierre responded with three runs in the fourth. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Congregational Church of Eagle Butte with Pastor Pauline Webb presiding. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery.
