Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 12/13/21

Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Langlade Hospital. A male patient threw an item at a receptionist and refused to wear a mask. He was there for a COVID test. The male subject left on a bicycle prior to the officer’s arrival. Officers were going to try and find the subject and talk to him about the incident.

At approximately 1:23 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a local department store for a shoplifting complaint. Asset protection staff had two parties detained in the office. The officer made contact with both parties and interviewed them. Both suspects admitted to stealing items and both were cited for a municipal retail theft.

Police respond to gun shot in Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT – On Dec. 1 at 1:59 a.m, the Portage County Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a male subject that had brandished a handgun in the 1300 block of Second St. and fired the handgun. Officers arrived and the suspect was taken into custody without incident at 2:03 a.m. A loaded handgun was found on the suspect.

ATHENS, WI (OnFocus) – An accident occurred at the corner of West Village Limits Road and Mueller Street in the Village of Athens that left four injured on Monday, Dec. 6. The accident was reported a little before 5 p.m. and involved two vehicles. A truck was heading eastbound on Mueller Street when the driver of a 2012 Toyota Corolla attempted to turn left to go northbound on West Village Limits Road but didn’t see the vehicle coming towards her.

AMHERST, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin State Patrol has identified the 30-year-old Northwoods man who was killed in a construction zone crash near Amherst last week. Officers say Jeffrey M Warmuth was driving his Chevy Traverse eastbound on US 10 when he came to a work zone that featured a single lane closure. His vehicle struck a construction truck and trailer performing maintenance in the area.
