Teen Dies After Jumping Off Hudson Yards' Vessel In Front His Family

A 14-year-old boy jumped to his death from the Hudson Yards' Vessel attraction Thursday afternoon in front of his family, police said. The teenager — whose name was not disclosed — leaped off the eighth floor of the 150-foot Manhattan, New York installation located near West 33rd Street and 10th Avenue at around 12:50 p.m., the New York Daily News reported.

Arrest Made In Connection To Fatal Shooting Of Connecticut Man In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Brooklyn back in June. Police say 29-year-old Ramel Chapman, of Brooklyn, is facing charges in the death 33-year-old Sean Robinson, of Stamford, Connecticut. The shooting happened on Morgan Avenue in East Williamsburg just after 12:30 a.m. on June 14. Chapman allegedly approached Robinson, who was sitting in the passenger seat of a Ford Mustang, and shot him in the back. Police say Chapman then approached the 38-year-old man who was in the driver’s seat, hit him with a gun and took his chain. After the incident, the man drove to a local hospital, where Robinson was pronounced dead. Chapman has been charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

Bronx Woman Arrested After State Troopers Find Over 25 Ounces Of Cocaine In Diaper Bag

COXSACKIE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A Bronx woman was arrested after state troopers found cocaine hidden in her baby’s diaper bag. It happened Tuesday around noon in Coxsackie. New York State Police say troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-87 for a vehicle and traffic violation and found that the driver, 33-year-old Shante Pleasant, didn’t have a valid driver’s license. Pleasant’s 13-year-old daughter and 7-month-old daughter were also in the vehicle at the time. Troopers conducted a vehicle inventory before the car was towed and found over 25 ounces of cocaine hidden inside Pleasant’s baby’s diaper bag. Pleasant was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and endangering the welfare of a child. The children were released into the custody of a relative.
