Missing Springfield woman’s body removed from home where police served search warrant

Residents in the 100 block of North Douglas Avenue in Springfield were in mourning after police discovered the body of a missing woman while serving a warrant Wednesday. Police identified the body as 56-year-old Gloria Dickinson. She was reported missing after her family hadn’t heard from her since Sept. 13. Neighbors said Dickinson has lived at the home with another person the past several years, although they’ve not seen the woman for weeks.

Suspect Wanted in Gang-Related Shooting Arrested in Bellefontaine

Bellefontaine police teamed up with a Lima police detective yesterday at an apartment on the 800 block of Heritage Court to locate 21-year-old Hezekiah M. Williams. Williams was reportedly involved in a gang-related shooting in Lima. He had a nationwide felony warrant for his arrest for participating in a criminal gang with a firearm and felonious assault as a repeat offender. He was seen earlier entering the dwelling.

Obituary for Shannon Rae Last (McFarlin)

Shannon Rae Last (McFarlin) Age 44, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2021 at the Miami Valley Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Shannon was born August 2, 1977 in Kenton, Ohio and graduated from Kenton Senior High School in 1995. She recently retired from the United States Air Force after more than 25 years of service. In 2004 she married Nicholas Last and they had 17 wonderful years of marriage and two amazing daughters together. Shannon is survived by her husband Nicholas Last, daughters Addison and Jocelynn, her brother Michael (Amy) McFarlin, two nephews Maddux, Maxtin and niece Halee. Shannon had a passion for spending time with family and friends. She loved her daughters with her whole heart and always wanted to make memories with them. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on November 13th, 2021 at the Veterans Memorial golf course from 1-5pm. Catalytic Converter Cut Off Vehicle in Bellefontaine

Bellefontaine police responded Wednesday morning to the 1,100 block of Rush Avenue to take a theft report. A female told officers she returned the night before to her vehicle left in a parking lot. The car was not running properly and was left at the scene until daylight. She learned a catalytic converter was cut off the automobile and taken while she was away.

New business coming to Piqua

The former George’s Dairy Bar and the adjacent building to the south are being demolished in Piqua. The long-time dairy bar, located at the corner of East Ash and Spring Streets, was a popular ice cream and hot dog establishment for decades. Taking its place on the property will be WellNOW, a new urgent care medical facility.
