Man Punched Unconscious After Parking Lot Mishap

Police were called to Seafood Sam’s on Coast Guard Road for a fight in progress in the parking lot on Thursday last week, September 16, at 6:58 PM. Upon arrival, US Coast Guard members were administering first aid to the victim, who was knocked unconscious during the altercation, and police were advised that the assailant, a 46-year-old Sandwich man, had left the scene in a black van.

Three people hospitalized after house fire in Hyannis

BARNSTABLE, Mass. — Three people were taken to the hospital early Friday after a house fire in Hyannis. Crews were called to the home on Oak Street at 3:30 a.m. The extent of the victims' injuries was not known. WCVB will have more information when it becomes available.

Orleans Fire-Rescue assist man after bucket lift gets stuck in trees

ORLEANS – Orleans Fire-Rescue responded to a housing complex on Main Street after a contractor using a bucket lift got caught in the trees and was unable to move the bucket. Tower 176, Ambulance 172, Car 179 responded. The operator was not injured. Tower 176 was able to cut away tree limbs that the were entangled in the hydraulic boom and assist in restarting the machine. Once that was done, the lift was able to be lowered to the ground without further incident.

Electrical fire reported at Harwich Highway Department building

HARWICH – Fire was reported at the Harwich Highway Department building at 273 Queen Anne Road about 2 PM Friday. The fire appeared to have started in the electrical meter and singed the side of the building. Eversource was called to cut the power so the exact problem could be found and repaired.
