An area health care worker is being praised for saving a woman’s life while off-duty. Shyanne Brandon, B.S.N., RN, was recently honored by INTEGRIS Health Miami Hospital Chief Executive Jonas Rabel for the life-saving measures she performed while attending as a guest at an employee appreciation event hosted by the Miami Nation’s Prairie Sun and Prairie Moon Casinos.

MIAMI, Okla. – An Ottawa County nurse was recently honored after her heroic efforts saved the life of a woman who nearly drowned. Shyanne Brandon, an INTEGRIS Health Miami Hospital nurse, witnessed a near-drowning incident on July 11 while she was off-duty. TULSA, Okla. — A Grove man and woman involved in running methamphetamine into Oklahoma and Missouri pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges in Oklahoma. Claudie Monroe Blunk, 72, of Quapaw, Okla., died Friday, August 5, 2022 at his home. Born August 22, 1950 in Picher, Okla., Claudie was the son of Lewis and Geneva (Gilbert) Blunk. They preceded him in death. Claudie was also preceded in death by his brother Eddie Blunk and sister Viola Crouch. He had lived in the Picher and Quapaw, Okla. area most of his life. He attended Picher- Cardin High School. He had worked for Newell Coach in Miami, Okla. for 28 years. Claudie served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
