Plane makes emergency landing at ROC Airport

Rochester. NY (WHAM) - A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport Sunday evening. Airport Director Andy Moore says a United Express flight from Newark, N.J. to Buffalo was diverted to ROC due to a fuel leak aboard the Bombardier CRJ 700 jet.

Ontario County Humane Society Monday closes on land for new adoption center

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Ontario County Humane Society Monday closed on a lot that it's planning to develop into a new adoption center. The 92-acre plot of land is on Route 332 and Yerkes Road in Canandaigua. The humane society said it paid for the property using an endowment fund for future planning that it raised through donations over the years.

A fuel leak forced a GoJet Airlines flight headed from Newark to Buffalo to make an emergency landing in Rochester on Sunday, according to reports. Flight 4583 — an 18-year-old Bombardier CRJ-701ER operating as United Express — departed from Newark Liberty International Airport at 4:45 p.m. and was scheduled to land in Buffalo at 5:46 p.m. but diverted to Rochester, according to FlightRadar24.

Rochester angler wins Bassmaster tournament on Oneida Lake, takes home $45,733

BREWERTON -- A Rochester angler won the Bassmaster Northern Open on Oneida Lake on Saturday with a three-day winning total of 52 pounds, 3 ounces. Bill Perkins, led the tournament each day. He turned in weights of of 18-11 and 17 pounds on Thursday and Friday, taking a slim lead each day. On Championship Saturday, his five-fish total was 16 pounds, 8 ounces -- more than 2 pounds ahead of second-place A.J. Slegona Jr., of Walker Valley, N.Y.
