Bloomington fitness center advocates for cardiovascular health at Saturday event

BLOOMINGTON (25 News Now) - One fitness center had the goal of getting hearts pumping Saturday morning. Carle Health Fitness Center hosted its annual Heart Walk for residents and gym members of the area. The idea is to bring awareness to cardiac health, and teach others to remain active in the process. The event featured a pie-in-the-face with a fitness coach and a warm up to get the walk started.

Children enjoy a ‘Day Of Play’ in Uptown Normal

UPTOWN NORMAL (25 News Now) - A local holiday was dedicated to getting children outside to have fun in a bigger playground. The ‘Day Of Play’ is hosted by the Children’s Discovery Museum. It brings all things creative, different, and fun outside for others to enjoy. Many educational resources for parents were provided, who also got time to be interactive with teaching their child to ride a bike or even play a musical instrument.

Bret Bielema now coaches the Illinois football program, but he is still trying to reach up into the state of Wisconsin when it comes to recruiting. The Illini bringing Bielema on as the head coach has been great for the team. He has brought stability and what I believe is a floor to the program. This team isn’t going to bottom out too hard. I think a season of 2-10 or 3-9 won’t be happening anytime soon.

City asks Bloomington LGBT bar to remove PRIDE hearts from street

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Rainbow hearts from an LGBTQ Pridefest are stirring controversy in downtown Bloomington. Last month, The Bistro, hosted its annual downtown Pridefest with around 6-7,000 attendees from all over Central Illinois. To add to the event, Bistro owner, Jan Lancaster drew rainbow hearts on Main Street to spruce up the block.

ISU students speak out about student safety in reaction to Pub II crash

Two Illinois State University students were put in critical condition after being struck by a motor vehicle outside the Pub II building at about 12:30 a.m. Sept. 15. The Normal Police Department and Normal Fire Department responded to the incident to give aid to the victims. One victim was life-flighted to a hospital in Champaign.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Illinois State volleyball swept Indiana State and senior outside hitter Sarah Kushner tallied her 1,000th career kill on the road Saturday. Early Lead not enough in Football’s Loss to Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Carroll University football team opened the game with a 21-0 lead over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, but the Titans scored 26 unanswered points to take down Carroll 21-26 on the Titan's homecoming.
