Crossroads Family Church, Wautoma, shows support for local law enforcement

Crossroads Family Church, Wautoma, recently presented the Wautoma Police Department and the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office with 50 handwritten thank you notes and a gift card to Christianos as a thank you for their service to our area. The idea was brought about by Tony Bertzyk, Crossroads Mission Director and she worked with Christianos to be able to present gift certificates to all 50. Accidents reported in Waushara County

9/18/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 2:20 p.m. on Robert St. in the Town of Poy Sippi. Unit 1 was parked next to park shelter. Marianne Pegel, 52, Pine River, was parked across driving lane next to unused oil trailer. She began backing out of parking spot. Pegel was affected by glare from the sun and struck the rear passenger corner of bumper of Unit 1 with their rear passenger corner of bumper. Unit 1’s bumper was dented inward about the size of a volleyball. Little to no damage on Pegel’s unit.

Fatal Accident in Town of Oasis claims one life

On Sept. 30 at 2:31 a.m., the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a two vehicle accident involving a potato truck and a mini van. The accident happened on County Road P near the intersection of County Road J in the Township of Oasis. The driver of the mini van, Susan A. Guist, was pronounced deceased and neither vehicle had passengers.

ALMOND, Wis. (WSAW) - One person was killed early Thursday morning when a minivan collided with a potato truck south of Almond. According to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicles collided around 2:30 a.m. on County Road P, near the County Road J intersection in the Town of Oasis. The location is south of Almond and east of Plainfield. The driver of the minivan died at the scene.

On Sept. 24, Wautoma Police Officers were dispatched to Evergreen Street in the City of Wautoma in reference to an armed individual damaging property and threatening to set fire to a residence. The individual was identified as Billy Joe Sweatt and officers learned Sweatt had an active warrant for FTA-Illegal Use of Credit Car (Winnebago County).

Waushara County Crash victims identified

The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office releases the names of three men killed in a high-speed crash. A car containing Santiago Perez-Domingo, Silvino Apolinar-Mateos, and Sergio Morales De Leon ran off County Highway “H” near Redgranite just before noon on Tuesday–went airborne–and struck a tree. All three men were declared dead at the scene. All three were also residents of Mexico.
