A Fairfax, Missouri woman is dead and her husband has been arrested after an accident Friday at Black Oak Resort in Lampe, Missouri. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 57-year-old Lisa Ilsley of Fairfax, MO, was traveling in a golf cart driven by her husband, William Ilsley, 57, around 11:25 p.m. Friday, July 30, on the grounds of the Black Oak Resort.

Tyson Foods Requiring COVID Vaccinations For All Employees

(Springdale, AR) — Tyson Foods is requiring all its current employees to be vaccinated for Covid-19 by November 1st and the company will no longer hire unvaccinated people. About 11,000 people work at Tyson facilities in Columbus Junction, Council Bluffs, Independence, Perry, Storm Lake, and Waterloo. The company says after months of encouraging employees to get shots, “under half” of its national workforce has been vaccinated against Covid-19. Tyson’s C-E-O says the company is now mandating vaccinations because Covid mutations like the Delta variant are “more contagious” and responsible for nearly all current Covid-related hospitalizations and deaths.

BENTONVILLE -- The Planning Commission on Tuesday approved three large-scale developments including a townhouse project, a bank and a barbecue restaurant. Plans for the 7th Street Townhomes at 207 and 209 S.E. Seventh St. show a 7,635-square-foot townhome development with six units. Each townhome will contain three bedrooms and be about 1,275 square feet, according to planning documents. The townhomes will be accessed through a single ingress/egress point on Southeast B Street, according to planning documents.

Hawthorne Park still ours to enjoy

The other day I came across the newspaper article from when Hawthorne Roadside Park in Neosho was first dedicated. When it opened in 1954 it was a big to-do, and everyone was really excited about it. The State of Missouri gave the land back to the City of Neosho in the fall of 2016, and I could be wrong but I don't think it was met with a lot of enthusiasm on the city's end at that time, as it just meant another piece of property to have to maintain.
