Murfreesboro developer sells four properties for $248M

Murfreesboro-based development and construction company TDK Companies has closed on the sale of four apartment properties in three states for a collective $248.2 million. According to a release, two of the properties — Vintage Tollgate in Thompson's Station and Vintage at the Avenue in Murfreesboro — are local. The other two properties are The Carolyn in Dallas and Vintage Destin in Destin, Florida. Combined, the four properties have 1,002 residential units.

There was a time when you did not have to listen closely to hear the traffic behind Riverdale High School whisking by on I-24. When the school opened in Fall 1972, not much was found on the westside of the interstate. In fact, seven years later, after the late Edward Elam Carlton hired Hulon Watson as principal, in 1979, the then director of schools drove his new hire out to the school for his first official visit as principal.

Silver alert issued for missing 64-year-old Murfreesboro woman

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued a silver alert for a missing 64-year-old Murfreesboro woman who suffers from a medical condition. According to TBI, Martha Roberts is described as 5 feet tall, weighing 196 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark brown jacket, white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a white and gray toboggan.

Dorothy “Dot” Howell Obituary

Dorothy “Dot” Howell, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, (August 1, 2021). Dot was born in the Howell Community in Lincoln County, TN on August 7, 1927, to the late Clark and Mildred Thomas. Mrs. Howell was happily married to the late Lindsey “Buddy” Howell, until his death in 2001.Dot is survived by her son, Donald Bruce Howell; sister, Faye Callina; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Dot was preceded in death by her sister\, Ruth Pitts and daughter-in-law, Suzie Howell. Mrs. Howell was a member of the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was known for her cooking skills and serving others. Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
