1 dead after incident involving pedestrian, tractor-trailer in Warren County, prosecutor says

A pedestrian died after an incident Thursday morning involving a tractor-trailer in the 100 block of Washington Avenue in Washington, the Warren County prosecutor said. An investigation was underway by Washington Township police and the county’s Fatal Accident Team, Prosecutor Jim Pfeiffer told lehighvalleylive.com. Details of what lead to the pedestrian’s death will be released once the probe is complete and family members have been notified, Pfeiffer said.

Plant lovers, beware: Invasive jumping worms could be wiggling around in a garden near you. According to WGN-TV, the brown or gray leaping earthworms, which have a white band around their bodies and can reach half a foot long, are originally from eastern Asia but have been spotted in at least 34 U.S. states. Since they first arrived here in the early 19th century, they have spread to the Southeast, Eastern Seaboard, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and parts of the Northwest, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County reported.
