An illegal haul of marijuana worth hundreds of thousands of dollars was allegedly uncovered during an inspection at an I-78 weigh station in Warren County. The latest large-scale bust by the inspection station in Greenwich Township, about 7 miles from the Pennsylvania border, happened June 14. A New Jersey state trooper inspecting a tractor-trailer found boxes containing 121 pounds of marijuana and THC products worth at least $850,000, according to a joint statement by state police and the county prosecutor’s office.

Thunderstorm knocks out power to thousands across Lehigh Valley

More than 1,500 people in Warren County and more than 1,000 in Northampton and Lehigh counties are without power as thunderstorms Monday evening passed through the region. As of 10 p.m., 74 PPL customers in Lehigh County and another 19 in Northampton County were in the dark. A Metropolitan-Edison outage map showed fewer than five customers in Lehigh County and another 953 in Northampton County were without power.

A 20-year-old Phillipsburg man faces charges in the alleged sexual assault of a minor. Taylor J. Miller, of the first block of Shultz Avenue, is charged with one count each of sexual assault and criminal sexual contact, and two counts of child endangerment, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday, one day after Miller’s arrest.
