Reads Landing Museum Trivia Challenge’s first winner

“I love a challenge,” said Mary Galke, of Winona. Mary is the first winner of the Trivia Challenge at the Wabasha County Historical Society, Reads Landing School Museum. Mary took her time to tour the museum. When she was ready, she requested the Trivia Questionnaire and had 20 minutes to complete it. She was excited to take part in the challenge and won a membership to the Wabasha County Historical Society. The Trivia Challenge continues this season, as well as the Coloring Contest for all age groups.

Pine Island woman drowns in Zumbro River Friday

(ABC 6 News) - The Wabasha County Sheriff's office says a Pine Island woman drowned in the Zumbro River on Friday. The sheriff's office says around 3:30 p.m., 57-year-old Lynn Marie Ness had drowned in the Zumbro River near Thielman, MN.

Wabasha County Drowning Victim Was From Pine Island

Theilman, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of a recent drowning. A news release says a search was launched last Friday afternoon after it was reported that a woman had gone missing in the Zumbro River near Theilman. Wabasha County Chief Deputy Jim Warren says the victim was 57-year-old Lynn Marie Ness of Pine Island.

Zumbro Falls Man Found Competent to Face Murder Charge

Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A rural Zumbro Falls man has been found competent to stand trial for the murder of his father. A Wabasha County judge issued the ruling this week in the case of 45-year-old James Edward Riley. He is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 73-year-old Edward Riley in early March.
