Gas savings: The cheapest station in Jacksonville

(JACKSONVILLE, IL) Gas prices vary across in the Jacksonville area, but if you’re willing to head for the cheapest station, you could be saving up to $0.21 per gallon. According to a survey by GasBuddy, Phillips 66 at 350 E Morton Ave was the cheapest station in the area, with regular listed at $2.98 per gallon at the pumps Wednesday. That was compared to Qik-n-EZ at 103 Comfort Dr, where a gallon of regular was selling for $3.19.

Beardstown stuns No. 2-ranked Brown County, 21-6

Lucas Domitien scored a pair of touchdowns as the Beardstown football team built a 21-0 lead en route to a stunning 21-6 win over Brown County Friday night at Mount Sterling. Brown County (4-1) was ranked No. 2 in the state in this week’s Associated Press Class 1A poll. Beardstown improved to 3-2.
