Baseball Heads to VCU with A-10 Playoff Spot at Stake

Bronx, N.Y. – (May 18, 2022) – The 2022 season for the Fordham baseball team all comes down to the final weekend, as the Rams have battled their way into a tie for the final Atlantic 10 Championship playoff spot, while also sitting just a half game back of sixth place.

VCU Baseball defeats UMass by 24 runs in game 1 of sweep

The Rams went off for 12 runs in just the first inning against the Minutemen, and continued to score in every inning expect two for a total of 26 runs off of just 22 hits. It was the most runs the Rams have scored in a game since 2019, when they won against La Salle 28-4, the 12 runs scored in the first inning was VCU's most since joining the A-10 in 2013.

VCU raises tuition by 3 percent for upcoming school year

After three years of flat tuition rates, the VCU Board of Visitors voted last week to hike tuition by 3 percent for the 2022-23 academic year. The board approved the tuition hike along with a $1.5 billion operating budget for the 2023 fiscal year. The university expects to make some cuts to the budget to address an anticipated funding shortfall, and a firm sense of what the budget will ultimately look like is dependent on the still in-process state budget.

UMW Outdoor Track & Field Competes at VCU Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams sent competitiors to the Virginia Commonwealth University Invitational on Sunday in Richmond. On the women's side, Haileigh Byrd finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.14 meters, and fifth in the triple jump, at 10.93 meters. Camy Delean was fifth in the 800 meters at 2:28.04, and Teresa Guzman was seventh at 2:31.54.

Baseball Drops Series Finale, 6-1, To VCU

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts baseball faced Virginia Commonwealth University in its final Atlantic 10 home game of the 2022 campaign and fell to the Rams, 6-1, at Earl Lorden Field on Sunday afternoon. Prior to the game, the program recognized its 18-man senior class, which included Matt Aronson, Zach Clevenger, Tyler Dalton, Drew DeMartino, Kevin Dow, Cole Hebble, Jared Henry, Dylan Judd, Scott LeSieur, Daniel Livnat, Steve Luttazi, Jack Pawloski, Michael Rounds, Collin Shapiro, Jack Steele, Christian Walsh, Aidan Wilde and Tucker Wittman.
