Sheldon residents in jail after K-9 alerts to drugs on traffic stop

Two Sheldon residents are being held in the Vernon County jail after a traffic stop led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamines. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said detectives with his office made a traffic stop near the 300 block of North Osage Blvd Wednesday morning, July 20th, and requested a K-9 unit to respond. During the stop, K-9 Creed alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle.

Area sheriffs address reported FBI conceal carry audit, promise to protect 2nd amendment

Area sheriff’s are responding to concerns that the FBI is allegedly planning an audit that includes the CCW (concealed carry weapon) system in Missouri counties. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said from what he understands the FBI’s CJIS Audit Unit is planning to audit “some” of the counties in Missouri including their CCW system/process and how information is accessed relating to the Criminal Justice Information System.
