Blues' Robert Bortuzzo: In action versus Knights

Bortuzzo (undisclosed) will be in the lineup for Friday's clash with Vegas, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Bortuzzo has never reached the 15-point threshold in his 11-year NHL career, so fantasy players certainly won't be impacted by his return to the lineup. Even in formats that utilize defensive stats, Bortuzzo figures to be a low-end fantasy target.

Blackhawks deal Vegas 4–3 shootout loss to end Knights’ playoff hopes

The penultimate game of a tumultuous 2021–22 regular season for the Chicago Blackhawks was also their final home game at the United Center when they faced the Vegas Golden Knights, whose playoff hopes were hanging by a thread entering the game. In fact, a loss by Vegas (or a win by the Dallas Stars over the Arizona Coyotes) would eliminate the Knights from playoff contention. For the Hawks, the game could mark the final home game for franchise icons Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews despite conflicting comments and rumors swirling around the team’s approach to rebuilding and whether or not the Hawks’ two stars will be part of the process heading into the final year of their eight-year contracts. The Hawks started Kevin Lankinen in goal against Vegas second-year netminder Logan Thompson.

Stars beat Vegas in 7-round shootout; Knights still alive

DALLAS (AP) — Miro Heiskanen made the only shot in a seven-round shootout and the Dallas Stars moved closer to clinching a playoff spot with a 3-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Jason Robertson reached the 40-goal mark by scoring twice for the Stars. Dallas and Nashville are tied atop the Western Conference wild-card standings with 95 points with two games left. But the Predators clinched a playoff spot with their overtime loss to Calgary since they hold all tiebreakers over Dallas and Vegas. Vegas has 91 points and would have to win its last two games and have Dallas lose its last two games in regulation to make the playoffs again.

NHL Tuesday best bets: Knights to keep playoff hopes alive in Dallas

Flames (-140) @ Predators (+115) The Calgary Flames and Nashville Predators have met twice this season, with both games featuring just five goals. I expect the trend of unders to continue on Tuesday night. Calgary has been one of the NHL's best defensive sides all season long and nothing has changed of late. They rank sixth in scoring chances allowed at five-on-five and ninth in expected goals allowed over the last 10 games. They're not giving up much.
