Memphis transfer impressive early in Auburn's camp

AUBURN, Alabama—Listed at 6-2, 281 pounds, Memphis transfer Morris Joseph. would be considered a big defensive lineman 20 years ago, but nowadays with defensive tackles regularly two inches taller and 20 pounds heavier you don’t see many guys his size playing in the Southeastern Conference in this era of college football.

Auburn football: Tigers coach Bryan Harsin breaks down 'chip' on team's shoulder

As Bryan Harsin enters Year 2 as Auburn's head football coach, the Tigers have a chip on their shoulder. He explained his team's mentality this week, via Auburn Undercover. "I think that whole concept of the chip and all that, you kind of got it, right," Harsin said. "I think that's one thing. There's certain things that motivate you and you can get upset about whatever. I think what we're trying to teach our guys is just how to be that way regardless. I think that's the whole idea of our football program is to teach people in our football program, players and coaches, how to be that way on a day-to-day basis — is what it is. How to go out there and really have the chip, so to speak, on your shoulder, every day. For whatever it is you're trying to do. You made it, you're at the bottom, it doesn't matter what anybody says or if they're patting you on the back. I've been there in both positions, everybody's loving you and telling you that you're all this, and you're not.

Freshman WR Camden Brown 'has a real chance' to impact Auburn offense

AUBURN, Alabama — Every spring or preseason has them: the camp darling. A couple months after Bryan Harsin arrived, it was defensive tackle Jeremiah Wright — before he tore his ACL in the second spring scrimmage. Last preseason, it was probably some combination of Ro Torrence, Marcus Harris and Tar'Varish Dawson. This past spring, it was certainly freshman safety Caleb Wooden.

In Their Own Words: Quotes of note from Auburn's offensive assistants

Quotes from Auburn’s five offensive coaches during their talks with reporters on Tuesday. Offensive coaches will be front and center Wednesday. “The first couple of days of camp they were not. The last two days they have progressed and practiced better. They have the ability to do it. They have to be sound fundamentally. They have to be sound on assignments and play like hell on Saturday. If they do that, they have a chance. If they are off a little bit, they won’t do it. If they do those three things, they can succeed in this league.”
