Man with knife tasered by police

HYDE PARK – A Sunday evening incident in which a man threatened people with a knife and fought police in Hyde Park resulted in an officer deploying his taser to subdue the subject. The incident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. near the intersection of Cream Street and Crum Elbow Road.

Movie Filming in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh Looking for Extras

Fire guts Newburgh city building

NEWBURGH – An overnight fire early Sunday gutted a building at 330 Washington Street in the City of Newburgh. The two-alarm blaze broke out around 2 a.m. The cause is unknown and remains under investigation. There were no reports of injuries.

On Sunday Greenwich Ave was teeming with dogs headed to the annual Howl & Prowl event, sponsored by Pet Pantry Warehouse in support of Adopt-a-Dog. The annual event, established in 2008, is a family favorite and featured food trucks, pet portraits, bone bar, free samples and a canine costume contest for prizes courtesy of sponsor Pet Pantry.

The Hudson Valley will soon welcome a new place to enjoy wine, food and live music. This time last year things seemed pretty unsure for the local bar and restaurant industry. We've seen a lot of businesses close their doors for good so it's refreshing to see a local business open their doors to share their delicious drinks and food to help bring the community together.

Abandoned Carl’s Jr. to Become Hudson Valley’s Newest Restaurant

A Carl's Jr. restaurant that has sat empty for over three years is finally set to reopen, but not as a burger joint. 2018 saw the end of Carl's Jr. in the Hudson Valley. After rebranding itself from Hardee's throughout the Hudson Valley, the popular burger chain quietly started closing all of their locations. In April of 2018, the Carl's Jr. in Kingston closed their doors to customers and then a month later the location on Route 211 in Middletown followed suit. In June of that year, the Hudson Valley's final Carl's Jr. on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie was shuttered,

‘Cursed’ Golden Corral on Route 9 to Become Brand New Restaurant

The Poughkeepsie Golden Corral is reopening yet again, but this time it'll be something a little different. Many people believe the Golden Corral on Route 9 is cursed. And if you've been following the soap opera of the restaurant's long, troubled past, you may be inclined to think the same thing. When the restaurant originally debuted in early 2017 it was plagued with management issues. Customers complained of food that was sub-par and promised buffet items that just weren't available. Stories of an overdose in the restaurant bathroom and a dispute with workers over unpaid wages contributed to Golden Corral's eventual closure.
