We catch up with Breckenridge Ski Resort instructor and guide Patrick to find out what makes Breckenridge different from other mountains in Colorado. One of the resort’s unique features is the mix of terrain that it offers to guests - from those who have never skied before to those seeking the thrill of the high alpine adventure skiing experience and everything in between. There are 3,000 acres of skiing and riding terrain at Breckenridge. And for advanced thrill-seekers, Patrick suggests above-tree-line and taking the Imperial Chair, which gets to a higher altitude point than any other lift in North America.
Breckenridge is one of the best places in Colorado to see the fall colors. At the end of September to early October, the Aspen trees light up into a golden show. Breckenridge is only a 1.5-hour drive from Denver and is nestled in the Rocky Mountains Tenmile Range. Breckenridge is known for its ski resorts, but it’s definitely a destination you don’t want to miss in the fall. It offers a charming downtown area full of dining and shopping, scenic drives, beautiful lakes, a famous troll statue, and so many outdoor adventures—it’s full of amazing things to do, eat and see with the added bonus of mountain views surrounding you. In this fall travel guide I’m sharing with you all the Must Do attractions and activities you can do in one day to experience the fall colors and everything in between! Follow along as I share with you the ultimate one-day fall travel guide to Breckenridge, Colorado.
Frisco, Colorado, is a hidden gem destination tucked away in Summit County. Situated on the western banks of Lake Dillon, about an hour west of Denver and a short jaunt to some of the best ski resorts (such as Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Vail), this town is a springboard to a high country adventure. My family and I spent a weekend getaway exploring the historic Main Street, outlying city, and surrounding areas of this beautiful mountain town. Frisco rewarded our whole family with unforgettable winter activities.
