The University City Community Association (UCCA) will meet on Wednesday, May 11, at 6 PM via Zoom. This is a public meeting and all are invited. UCCA’s focus will be on housing legislation, proposals, and options; with presentations by ElderHelp (Senior Services) and by Humane Society Law Enforcement (Park Patrol). In addition, we will have updates from community and elected leader/representatives including the police department and planning group. The meeting will also include a public forum and UCCA committee reports. This is a public meeting and all are invited. When finalized, the agenda and Zoom information will be posted on this page.

Pure Water: Construction of sewage recycling pipeline expected to disrupt University City and other neighborhoods this summer and fall

From the San Diego Union Tribune: Neighborhoods across northern San Diego will be disrupted by tunneling and pipeline construction this summer when work kicks into high gear on Pure Water, the largest infrastructure project in city history. Pure Water is a sewage recycling system that aims to boost local water independence in the face of more severe droughts caused by climate change. When complete in 2035, it is projected to produce half the city’s drinking water.
