Francis S. Dauberman, 87, of Lewisburg, passed away at his home Saturday morning, June 12, 2021. A native of Union County, he was born in Mazeppa July 11, 1933, a son of the late Elmer and Estelle (Rheppard) Dauberman. He was married to the former Patricia Smith and his death breaks a marital union of 61 years.

Man charged with allegedly threatening to kill woman and assaulting her: PSP Milton

Mifflinburg, Pa. – A man in Union County who allegedly repeatedly kicked a woman in the head and threatened to kill her was charged with aggravated assault. Nathan A. Snyder, 43, had taken a female victim into the basement of a residence in Limestone Township the evening of May 16. He allegedly forced her on the floor and began kicking her in the head, according to the arrest affidavit.

PA with Four Straight Days of Less Than 500 New COVID Cases

HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania is reporting under 500 new cases of COVID-19 for the first time since last June. In its daily update Tuesday, the state Department of Health says there were 450 additional new positive cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,206,439, of which 96% have recovered. Locally there were 13 new cases; Northumberland County has nine of those new cases, bringing the county total to 9,680, Union County has two new cases with at total of 6,140 cases, and Montour has one new case, with a total of 2,022 cases. Snyder County also has a one new case for a total of 3,669 cases.

Montour, Snyder counties moved into moderate COVID-19 transmission level

COVID-19 community spread increased enough in Montour and Snyder counties last week to move them into the moderate transmission risk category of the state's Early Warning Monitoring System. Mifflinburg man charged with rape, strangulation

MIFFLINBURG — A Union County man has been charged with felony counts alleging rape, aggravated indecent assault and strangulation after a vehicle pursuit and investigation. Troopers claimed that at about 6 a.m. June 2 at a Limestone Township, Union County, address, Jeffrey J. Irvine, 38, of Mifflinburg, forcibly had sex with a female. Papers filed allege the rape followed an argument with the victim, who claimed Irvine also dragged her out of a shower by the hair and struck her.
