In the 2nd quarter of 2022, YOUR Chamber has been hard at work championing business growth and prosperity throughout Union County. Read below for highlights:. After Board Approval in late March, the Public Policy Committee helped facilitate a presentation and small group discussions on the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda. Senator Todd Johnson and Representatives Dean Arp and David Willis were part of the roundtable discussions around policies impacting businesses. The event provided a wealth of information for the Public Policy Committee to consider, including a follow-up meeting with local municipality staff and elected officials to better understand how North Carolina legislation affects local policy.

Hot temps, drought impacting North Carolina farm crops

Hot temperatures and a lack of rainfall are spreading drought conditions across many parts of North Carolina, and farmers in the state are feeling the impact. More than two-thirds of North Carolina is experiencing abnormally dry conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Much of eastern North Carolina and some areas in and around Mecklenburg County especially are in moderate to severe drought.
