TWO COUNTIES RETURN TO HIGH-SPREAD LEVEL FOR COVID-19

(Whitewater Valley)--Two Whitewater Valley counties were counted Tuesday morning as once again having reached the highest level of spread for Covid-19. Those two counties are Union and Franklin. All counties in our area are have now reached moderate, substantial, or high-risk levels. Those risk levels are determined by the number of new cases in the last seven days. Reid Health on Tuesday morning listed only two patients are Covid-19 positive. That number has held steady for weeks.

Woman Arrested In Connection With 2006 Murder

The Union County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by US Marshals concerning a murder suspect in the county. Three deputies and a Sturgis K-9 formed a task force and arrested 46 year old Lashanda Person at her home. She was originally from Christian County and had been living in Sturgis.

Despite Strong Fight, Panthers Can’t Top Patriots

Despite a 4-run deficit in the second inning, the Knightstown Panthers almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-4 to Union County Patriots on Monday. The Panthers scored four runs in the failed comeback on a double by Dalton Scott in the second, a single by Carson Smith in the third, and Keelan Walters reached on error in the third scoring two.

REID HEALTH DOWN TO ONE COVID-19 PATIENT

(Richmond, IN)--It’s been a few weeks since any local Covid-19 numbers have been reported, and those numbers continue to remain low. Reid Health now updates its Covid-19 numbers only on Monday. Yesterday’s report shows just one Covid-19 patient. Wayne, Fayette, and Randolph County have each had only three new cases in the last week. Union County hasn’t had any at all.

Richmond man jailed after U.S. 27 crash kills Liberty man, injures couple

LIBERTY, Ind. — A Richmond 22-year-old has been arrested following a U.S. 27 accident that killed a Liberty man and injured a Richmond couple. Brock A . Robinson, 22, was booked in the Union County Jail on preliminary charges of Level 4 felony causing death when operating while intoxicated, Level 4 felony leaving the scene of a fatality crash and Level 5 felony reckless driving causing death, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
