Passenger in vehicle struck by train at Kingston crossing has died

KINGSTON, N.Y. — An Ulster County man who was a passenger in a vehicle struck by a freight train in Midtown has died, city police said Thursday. Lt. John Tremper said the 39-year-old was taken to the MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and pronounced dead less than an hour after the Wednesday afternoon crash. The man’s name and community of residence were not immediately provided.
