Boat Hits Rocks at Murtaugh Lake, No Serious Injuries

MURTAUGH, Idaho (KLIX)-No one was seriously injured when a small boat hit rocks at Murtaugh Lake late Saturday evening. According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, deputies and the Twin Falls County Search and Rescue team were called out to the far east shore of Murtaugh lake for a boat crash. The boat had hit some rocks at a high speed and partially sank. The sheriff's office said no one was seriously hurt. Search and Rescue was able to retrieve the boat with air bags and take the vessel back to the docks where it was loaded onto a trailer.

Unusually dry, hot conditions could lead to active fire season in Magic Valley

TWIN FALLS — Unusually dry and warm conditions have lead to an early start to a fire season that is expected to worsen over the coming months. The Magic Valley has experienced a number of small fires already this year, including multiple in the South Hills and one that burned 40 acres in the Snake River Canyon near Pillar Falls on June 5.

Filer Fun Days and MV Dairy Days This Weekend in Southern Idaho

Another exciting and fun-filled weekend is prepped for us here in Southern Idaho. The Magic Valley Mall parking lot is filled with carnival rides for the next week and two big events are happening in cities around Twin Falls. Magic Valley Dairy Days in Wendell has already begun and the Filer Fun Days event is Saturday.

Filer Fun Days expects record turnout

FILER, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —The Filer Fun Days are back again starting Friday night at the Twin Falls County fairgrounds and organizers are expecting a record turnout. The annual event did take place last year, but only had around 500 to 600 visitors. This year, organizer Cheryl Carr is expecting around 3,000 people.

Driver Missed Stop, 3 Minors, Adult injured in Crash Near Buhl

BUHL, Idaho (KLIX)-Three children and one adult were hospitalized when a driver failed to stop at an intersection and was hit by a pickup Monday evening south of Buhl. According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. at the intersection of 1500 E and 3900 North. Shawna Urigen, 36, of Buhl was headed west on 3900 N in a Buick Rendezvous and was broadsided by a northbound Chevrolet Silverado when she failed to stop at the stop sign. Urigen and a minor were flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, two other minors in her car were taken to St. Luke's Magic Valley.

Serious Crash South of Twin Falls

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)-Multiple agencies responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash south of Twin Falls on Blue Lakes South and South Hills Road. According to Twin Falls County Coroner Gene Turley, 24-year-old Joseph Doyle, of Twin Falls died from his injuries at the scene of the crash. Idaho State Police said he hadn't been wearing a seat belt when he crashed into another vehicle at the intersection. Doyle had been headed east on 3600 North (South Hills Road) in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he failed to yield to a Chevrolet Silverado heading north on 3000 East (Blue Lakes). The driver of the Silverado was not injured.
