Fresno woman, 34, killed in solo vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Merced County, CHP says

A 34-year old Fresno woman died after a car she was driving crashed into a median along Highway 99 in Merced County early Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred just north of the Winton Parkway exit in Livingston at 3:49 a.m. The woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of family, was driving a 1997 Lexus southbound on Highway 99.

Schools Locked Down for Suspect Search

MODESTO – Two schools were placed on lockdown during a search for a suspect Friday afternoon. The incident happened at about 1:00pm when a Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputy noticed a vehicle that had been reported stolen on Dallas Street near Glenn Avenue. CHP: K9 officer Beny sniffs out 1 pound of heroin, 1,000 fentanyl pills during traffic stop

MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – K-9 officer Beny helped CHP officers arrest two people who were found with heroin and fentanyl pills on Friday, according to CHP officials. CHP investigators say an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a 2018 Jeep for violating multiple California vehicle codes while driving, including an illegal window tint and following too closely to another vehicle.

(CERES, CA) Gas prices vary across in the Ceres area, but if you’re willing to head for the cheapest station, you could be saving up to $1.04 per gallon. GAS WAR & Empire Liquor at 5018 Yosemite Blvd was the cheapest station in the area, according to a survey by GasBuddy, with regular listed at $3.75 per gallon Wednesday. Merced man accused of murder, attempted murder in pizza parlor shooting

A Merced man has been arrested following a brawl at a pizza parlor which escalated to a fatal shooting, according to police. On the evening of Monday, September 13, a fight reportedly broke out between two groups of people at Mountain Mike’s on West Olive Avenue, ultimately escalating to a shooting that wounded three people, police said.
