Bail Set at $100,000 for Onalaska Man Accused of Pointing Gun at Man in Chehalis

An Onalaska man is facing assault charges for allegedly threatening a man with a gun during a dispute in Chehalis on Thursday. The victim told police he had confronted a male subject after observing him going through the victim’s possessions. The subject ran away and the victim pursued, according to court documents, until the subject allegedly “turned and pointed a gun at (the victim).”

Case of Washington woman missing since 2011 to be featured on TV show

The 2011 disappearance of a woman from Parkland will be featured Wednesday on a segment of a TV show focused on unsolved crimes and missing children. Ruthie Fawn Kindness was last seen in Parkland, an unincorporated suburb of Tacoma, on Feb. 3, 2011, according to the Washington State Patrol. She was 20 years old when she went missing and would have turned 31 in August.

According to city of Tacoma officials, people living in several large encampments along Yakima Avenue will soon be cleared. As The News Tribune has reported, some at South 8th Street and Yakima Avenue were given two weeks to find an alternative.
