Baby bobcat rescued after getting head trapped in pipe near Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - A baby bobcat who found himself caught in a tight situation in southern Arizona had to be rescued by crews from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. le pipe in Oro Valley, which is north of Tucson. He was spotted roaming in the area earlier this week. His head entrapped in the pipe. Finally, on Thursday, crews were able to locate and safely trap the animal.

Animal hospitals seeing ripple effect from record pet adoptions during pandemic

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Pet adoptions during the quarantine were at an all-time high and now animal hospitals say they’re seeing the ripple effect. VCA Valley Animal Hospital in Tucson is reporting more new patients in 2020 than three years prior. Marie Kerl, Chief Medical Officer of VCA Animal Hospitals, said the increase in animals has resulted in a need for increased staff. VCA has hired more than 5,400 hospital based positions this year and Kerl said they still have hundreds of positions to fill.
