Huskies win twice at Showcase

The Jackson County Central volleyball team went 2-3 at the Class AA Showcase Friday and Saturday in Burnsville. The No. 7 Huskies opened pool play with a 2-1 loss to Norwood-Young America (20-25, 25-16, 8-15) before beating New London-Spicer 2-0 (25-18, 25-20) Friday. In Saturday’s final pool-play match, JCC lost 2-0 (11-25, 18-25) to No. 1 Pequot Lakes.

More Details About Minnesota’s Swatting Calls

(Minneapolis, MN) — There were 14 swatting calls at schools across Minnesota, and police are all but certain they came from the same person. The BCA gave an update on its investigation into this week’s rash of calls about fake, active shootings at local schools. Investigators say schools from International Falls to Fairmont, and of course in the Twin Cities got calls. The BCA says Minnesota is not alone. Investigators say other states saw similar swatting calls, which gave them a heads-up the calls were fake.

BEA rallies twice to down St. James

Blue Earth Area volleyball coach Donna Nawrocki made a slight adjustment to her line-up ahead of her team’s contest with St. James on Tuesday, Sept. 20. “We just switched Eloise (Blair) and Kate (Armon) and moved Eloise into the libero position,” Nawrocki explained. “It is a position Eloise has played in the past and she excels in that role.”

Wahpeton, IA (KICD) — The Dickinson County Sheriff’s department reports possible injuries when two pickups collided 3 miles west of Wahpeton Wednesday afternoon. 48 year old Christopher Pratt of Superior was Eastbound on 180th Street, and 52 year old Joseph Berg of Milford was Northbound on 140th Avenue when they both entered the intersection at the same time.

The Jackson County Central volleyball team swept New Ulm Thursday, winning by scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-20. JCC improved to 9-4 with the win.
