16th African American Festival

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Hundreds celebrated African American history, health and education at the 16th annual African American festival in Toledo on Saturday. ‘We’ve been locked up a year and a half. So it’s just nice to hear music and come out of the house and relax and enjoy,” says Toledo resident Cassie Marsunburg.

African American Festival continues with gusto Saturday

Early morning showers did little to dampen the spirited celebrations planned Saturday during Toledo’s the 16th annual African-American Festival. Three blocks’ worth of cars, pedestrians, and youth cheerleading and dance troupes started the festivities with a parade starting at Detroit Avenue and Dorr Street at 10 a.m., not long after the morning’s rain let up.
