Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:. 4:58 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, West Levi Lee Road, west of West Edgewood Drive, Warsaw. Driver: David A. Rangel, 73, North Allen Lane, Warsaw. Rangel was found lying in a ditch near where his moped was by a passer-by. He said he couldn’t remember what happened and was taken to the hospital. Police believe that his moped was struck from behind by another vehicle. That caused it to run off the roadway and flip in the ditch. The accident is still under investigation. Damage: Up to $1,000.

Motorcyclist dies in Elkhart County crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - An Elkhart man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on Saturday afternoon in northwest Elkhart County. Police say Terry Frost Jr., 39, was driving his motorcycle north on Manhatten Drive just south of Michiana Drive at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slid off the roadway.

5th wheels stolen from Forest River lot

WAKARUSA — A Florida man is accused of making off with a fifth wheel camper by pretending to transport it. Luis Martinez Gonzalez, 28, is charged with theft as a Level 5 felony after his arrest Tuesday. Police say he stole a 2022 Crusader model valued at close to $90,000.

A Warsaw woman was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, when KCSO officers responded to the scene of an accident at East CR 450N, 1,000 feet east of North CR 1000E, Warsaw, they noticed a vehicle had gone off the road. The vehicle had hit a utility pole, and utility lines were on the vehicle.

Murder suspect transferred to federal custody

GOSHEN — A man whose murder trial ended in a deadlocked jury is back in federal custody after he allegedly violated the conditions of his supervision. Jordon Norton, 31, is awaiting a second trial for the fatal shooting of David Artley inside Hardy’s Bar on Aug. 23, 2020. Security cameras caught Norton shooting the Elkhart man five times.

Argos Woman Arrested on Several Charges Following Marshall County Traffic Stop

An Argos woman was arrested Tuesday, September 27 following a traffic stop in the area of State Road 331 and 2B Road. Bremen Police say 28-year-old Kaila Mishael Tapia was taken into custody on preliminary charges of driving while suspended, possession of paraphernalia, identity deception, possession of a hypodermic needle or syringe, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, and possession of methamphetamine.
