Oakland police say woman dies after being struck by multiple vehicles

OAKLAND -- A 63-year-old Oakland woman died Saturday night near the 6200 block of Bancroft Avenue after she was run over by multiple vehicles, none of which stopped.Oakland police say officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian just after 10:30 p.m.They found the victim lying in the eastbound lane of traffic on Bancroft. Several vehicles (unknown make or models) traveling eastbound on Bancroft Avenue collided with the pedestrian in the roadway.The Oakland fire department and FALCK ambulance medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene due to major trauma.The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of family members. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Oakland police department traffic investigation unit at (510) 777- 8570.

49ers Have Reportedly Signed Veteran Tight End

The San Francisco 49ers already have one of the best tight ends in the NFL with George Kittle. But they're giving Kittle some extra help in the form of an experienced veteran. Per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the 49ers are signing Tyler Kroft to a one-year deal. Kroft is coming off a one-year run with the New York Jets, during which he had 16 receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown in nine games.

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- San Francisco police are investigating a deadly collision between a taxi cab and pedestrians Sunday afternoon.It happened around 4:30 p.m. at Third and Mission streets near the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in the city's south of Market neighborhood.Police say a taxi crashed into another car causing the cab to hit some people on the sidewalk.Two women were killed and two others were injured. UPDATE: Police identified the two women killed in the crash as 31-year-old Willa Henderson and 72-year-old Mary Henderson, both of Vero Beach, Florida.Police said it was a freak accident."We rarely see any incidents like this in the downtown area and especially in this time of the day," SFPD spokesman Ofc. Robert Rueca said. "We will be working with the Municipal Transportation Agency to see if traffic and engineering could be a factor."Police say drugs and alcohol don't appear to be a factor and there is no word if there was a passenger inside the taxi.The intersection was closed as police investigated into the late evening.
